Michael's Story
Hi, My name is Michael. Wyndy is my Mom, and she is the best. When my Mom started on her “diet” (she got mad when I called it that) I hated it. She had been on many of these trips before and I knew what was coming. This time was different, and she started to really change things around . She started cooking different, she started walking, and she was writing all the time. That turned out to be “her book.”
I noticed she was starting to lose weight, but she was changing. I felt jealous, but happy at the same time. I knew I had to lose weight as well, but I didn’t have the drive my Mom had. A year or so ago a good friend of mine got caught by my Mom’s vision and she started eating and exercising like Mom and it wasn’t too long and her weight started to drop. I knew what my Mom was doing worked, but I didn’t want to do what it took.
When we moved to Tn. I was miserable. I knew I had to lose weight, but I just couldn’t. My sister who is now worse than my Mom, thanks to Mom! Started challenging me to go to the “Y” with her. Very slowly my eating started to change. Those steps my Mom talks about. I began to enjoy the feeling I got when I worked out, and I was actually seeing a change. I am training to go in the Army. The first time I talked to the recruiter I was thinking, man I can’t do what they want me to do. I have lost over 40 lbs., and my workout has increased. I am getting ready to take the entrance exam, and will hopefully be a soldier in the United States Army this fall. I love my Mom and I know without her and my sis I wouldn’t be where I am today.
