What Is The TRAP?
I am a loyal friend of “Mr. Webster”. When I don’t understand the meaning of certain words I go to him for advice. Sometimes we read and say words, but our language is so natural for us we don’t stop and think about what words really mean.
Part of my goal is to make you aware of words that I feel necessary that need to be clearly defined. Words that we need to become sensitive to within ourselves when we hear them.
What is the TRAP?
That is the first question I am going to ask you. Let’s first define the word trap.
A Trap… Anything planned to deceive, or betray.
When I began seeking God for understanding of “The trap, The Plaque, The Dwelling”, I was blown away with the placement of traps Satan has created for us as Christians. The Traps that we will be studying together are food traps!
Throughout my teaching I am going to talk and explore how God in his awesome wisdom designed our “bodies” to function, and how Satan in all of his craftiness has created and set traps to destroy this body.
1. The First Bite of Sin
Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the Heavens and earth.”
Genesis 1:26-27, “Then God said, “Let us make people in our image, to be like Ourselves.” So God created people in His own image --- God patterned them After Himself, male and female He created them.”
Genesis 3:1-6, “Now the serpent (Satan) was the shrewdest of all the creatures the Lord God had made. “Really?” he asked the woman. “Did God really say you must not eat any of the fruit?” “Of course we may eat it,” the woman told him. “It’s only the fruit from the tree at the center of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God says we must not eat it or even touch it, or we will die!” “You won’t die,” hissed the serpent. “God knows that your eyes will be opened when you eat it. You will become just like God, knowing everything, both good and evil.” The woman was convinced. The fruit looked so fresh and delicious and it would make her so wise. So she ate some of the fruit. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it too.”
When Eve committed the first sin, what was first thing she learned? The knowledge of good and evil. What was the action of her sin? She ATE! She ate the forbidden food, God told her not to eat. Why?? Because it kept her from the knowledge of GOOD and EVIL. Satan, very slowly over time, has reprogrammed our brain’s natural design of processing and digesting our foods. We ask, "How has he accomplished this?" By changing the chemistry of the types of food we eat.
